Alexandra is a corporate lawyer based in McInnes Cooper’s Halifax office. Alex advises clients on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting requirements, environmental regulatory matters, and a range of corporate matters. Alex is also deeply engaged in her community, serving as a Board Member of Halifax’s Community Health Board (Central) and Chair of McInnes Cooper's Collective Social Responsibility Committee in Halifax. In addition to her professional endeavors, she teaches yoga and enjoys playing soccer and running. 

Alexandra will review Canada’s still new Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (commonly referred to as the Modern Slavery Act). She will examine the Act’s objectives, its impacts on businesses in Canada, and its role in promoting transparency and accountability. By exploring the legal framework, you will gain insight into how the Modern Slavery Act cultivates corporate accountability, encourages ethical sourcing practices, and supports the global effort to prevent modern slavery and uphold human rights in supply chains.
